Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Delhi and Local Sightseeing

Our chauffeur, in a clean and serviced cab, shall pick you up from Delhi Airport/Railway station and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel. Check in at the hotel and relax. Later proceed for local sightseeing in the hugely diverse capital city of Delhi. Firstly visit the Lotus temple, formed in the shape of an open lotus flower (establishment of which demanded $10 Million for construction). This temple is open to visitors from all regardless of caste and creed. Next, proceed to visit Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to Mahatama Gandhi (The father of the nation). After paying your homage call in on the Akshardham temple in the evening for lazer show that is quite popular among the locals and tourists alike.

Day 2Delhi Local Sightseing

Post breakfast, proceed for the full day local sightseeing in Delhi. Visit various architecturally wonderful monuments including Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, Jantar Mantar (Observatory), Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhawan (President’s residence) and IndiaGate. IndiaGate is a war memorial dedicated to the 70,000 martyers who laid their lives during the First World War in 1914-21. Qutub Minar is the second highest Minaret in the world with a height of 73 meters. The minar along with other ancient and medieval monuments surrounding it are enclosed within the Qutub complex, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3Delhi to Agra Drive via Mathura/Vrindavan (160 km/3 hours)

Post breakfast, proceed towards the land of Lord Krishna, the cities of Mathura and Vrindavan. Mathura is one amongst the Saptpuri, 7 cities considered holy by the Hindus. Visit Shri KrishnaJan Bhumi temple, Krishna Balrama Mandir, Vishram ghat and Prem Mandir. Vishram Ghat is a holy site along the banks of River Yamuna which features numerous temples, shrines and festivals. Prem Mandir is beautifully designed temple dedicated to the beautiful and pious relationship between Krishna and Radha. Vrindavan is referred to the playfulness and lovable characteristics of Shri Krishna that it evokes. Later proceed towards Agra, check in at the hotel and stat overnight.

Day 4Agra Full Day Sightseeing

Wake up early morning for the most awaited sunrise visit to the epic crowned jewel of the nation, The Taj Mahal (meaning the crown of palaces). Call in on the marvelous 7th wonder of the modern world and astonish at the extent of beauty that can possibly exist in human creation. The Taj Mahal is built of sparkling white marble throughout and was built by Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan in the memory of his most beloved wife,Mumtaz Mahal.

The monument is the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal and houses her mortal remains. Taj Mahal is visited by 7 to 8 million tourists each year and is surely the crown of Indian rich cultural history. Further, proceed to visit the gigantic Agra Fort, also known as the sister monument of Taj and has been the royal residence of the Mughal emperors till 1638, before the capital was shifted to Delhi and an identical monument was created (and named) in the new capital. The Agra Fort (aka Red Fort) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must visit destination while visiting Agra.

Day 5Agra to Jaipur Drive via Fatehpur Sikri (245 km/4 hours)

Post breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed towards Fatehpur Sikri, a land originally designated to be the capital of Mughal empire, which Akbar abandoned due to a campaign in Punjab and later was entirely abandoned. But until then, the architectural marvel of Mughals had touched the land. This land was also beloved of Babur since the water from the lake supported his armies and helped defeat the Rana Sanga in its outskirts.

Visit various architectural marvels here including Buland Darwaza which is the largest gateway in the world, King’S Gate, Queen’s Palace, Diwan-I-Khaas, Diwan-I-Am, Mariam-Uz-Zamani house and Anup Talao. Once you have explored the land in its entirity, proceed towards Jaipur, the capital city of the state of Rajasthan. On arrival, check in at your hotel and relax overnight. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6Jaipur Local Sightseeing

Post breakfast, get ready to explore the capital city of Rajasthan, famously known as the pink city due to the dominance of color in its buildings. Firstly, call in on the renowned Amber Fort (aka Amer Fort) located 11 km from the Jaipur city centre. Amber Fort is a UNESCO world heritage site and has been the set of numerous Bollywood classic movies. The fort is built in red sandstone and marble and has numerous palaces within its periphery viz Diwan-I-Am (Hall of Public Audience), Diwan-I-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), and Sukh Niwas (an area where a cool atmosphere is artificially created by winds that flow over a water cascade within the palace).

The older capital city of the state of Rajasthan overlooks the Jaipur-Delhi highway with its supreme elegance. Famous for its Hindu artistic elements with intricate detailing on the walls and structure, it overlooks the Maota lake which is the prime source of water for the town of Amer. After exploring the fort thoroughly, proceed to visit other attractions of Jaipur including Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Astronomical Observatory, Birla Mandir and if time permits Albert Hall Museum. Later proceed to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 7Jaipur to Delhi Drive (259 km/4 hours)

Post breakfast and a detailed exposure to the Western Golden Triangle of India, leave for your return journey towards the national capital, New Delhi. If time permits, call in on the awe-inspiring Jal Mahal. The Jal Mahal is built at the center of the Man Sagar lake in the outskirts of Jaipur. Just like most of the monuments in the city of Jaipur, it was also built by Maharaja Jai Singh. On arrival in Delhi, complete your local sightseeing of Delhi. Visit various local markets including Cannaught Place, Palika Baxar, Sarojini Market, Khan Market and many more. Finally, proceed towards Delhi IGI Airport/Railway Station for your final drop.
