Leh is situated in the picturesque Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. Leh is renowned for its Buddhist temples, stunning locations, and pristine environment. It is also known as “The Land of Lamas” or “Little Tibet” as the region is strongly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. You can find barren mountains with colourful monasteries, fluttering prayer flags, tiny settlements, rocky ridges and the Indus River in Leh. Therefore, Leh is one of the most loved travel destinations in India.

The second day of the tour is dedicated to local sightseeing at Leh. Start your day with a wholesome breakfast at your hotel. Visit the Shey Palace, Hemis monastery, Alchi monastery, Matho monastery, Thiksey, and Stok Palace Museum. Hemis monastery is the most popular and ancient monastery in Leh. It is a favourite tourist attraction in Ladakh.
Packed lunch will be provided during the sightseeing. Return to your hotel in the evening and enjoy the overnight stay.
The third day of the tour starts with breakfast at Leh. After breakfast, start off your journey to Nubra Valley. The Leh Ladakh tour cannot be complete until you visit the enchanting Nubra Valley. The journey from Leh to Nubra Valley will be etched forever in your mind. The best thing about the journey is that you will be crossing the Khardung La Pass, one of the highest (18,380 feet) motorable passes in the world. It is the gateway to Siachen glacier. After crossing the Khardung La Pass, you can see the valley where the beautiful Shyok River is meeting the Nubra River.
The entire journey from Leh to Nubra Valley is like the unfolding of the miracles of nature. The magical Nubra Valley is situated at an altitude of 3048 metres above sea level. You will be thrilled to watch the barren landscape transform into a scenic valley of flowers.
After reaching the Nubra Valley, visit the Diskit Monastery. It was founded in 1420 A.D by Lama Sherab Zangpo. It is the largest and the oldest monastery in Nubra Valley. It belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. You can see a statue of a deity in the monastery. The panoramic view of the beautiful Diskit village from the monastery will definitely mesmerize you. Packed lunch will be provided after the visit to the monastery (optional).
After lunch, visit the Hundar Village, which is 7kms away from the Diskit monastery. The village is located on the bank of the Shyok River. The Hundar village is famous for its beautiful sand dunes. The sand dunes present a mesmerizing picture under a full moon. After exploring the village, go for a double-humped Bactrian camel safari in sand dunes between the Diskit and Hundar villages.
After the hectic day, enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at the hotel or camp in Nubra Valley.
The fourth day of the tour starts with breakfast at Nubra Valley. After breakfast, embark on your return journey to Leh. Enjoy the scenic beauty from your car on your way to Leh. The challenging roads, high altitude passes, beautiful valleys, serene lakes will bewitch you. Capture some wonderful pictures in your camera that you can cherish long after you have reached home. Your Leh Ladakh tour will be incomplete without visiting the Pangong Lake. So, the fifth day of the tour starts with an early breakfast at your hotel in Leh. After the breakfast, start off your journey to the Pangong Lake. Pangong Lake, also called the Pangong Tso is situated at an altitude of 14,500 feet. It is a beautiful endorheic lake that extends from India to China. The beauty of this lake attracts plenty of tourists every year. One of the factors that make the Pangong Lake such a favourite tourist destination is that it keeps changing colours.
It is a 4 to 5 hours drive from Leh to Pangong Lake. The route that leads to the lake is very scenic and beautiful. You will drive through the Changla Pass (17,350 feet) which is the third highest motorable pass in the world.
The Pangong Lake is 134kms in length and 5-6kms in width. 75% of the blue brackish saltwater lake runs on the other side of the Indo China border. The first glance of the alluring, blue lake will enchant you. It is a favourite spot of photographers. The fascinating fact about the lake is that despite having saline water, the water of the lake freezes during winter. The lake cannot have any aquatic life or any type of vegetation. Packed lunch will be provided during your visit to the Pangong Lake (optional).
After seeing the beautiful Pangong lake, return back to Leh via the same route. In the evening, you can explore the local markets of Leh. Indulge in some shopping for souvenirs in the vibrant markets of Leh. You can check out the Pashmina shawls, stoles, handmade woollen caps and gloves. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
